Task Scheduler Trigger: Upon start of program x.exe do <whatever> action ?
Using Task Scheduler:
It is possible to create a "Program X is started" trigger if program x does not create an event in any event log?
The same goes for "Program X was started, but got closed now" trigger.
As far as I can see it is not possible, but maybe there is a workaround to get one of the services to watch more closely for the start and close of a specific program(s) and create log entries according to that to trigger the task to be run.

This is not my intention, or what I want.
What I want is to start the program as usual and end it as usual, and a defined task to act upon that. There are quite some uses ready, including actions in a local domain environment.
What you describe can be easier accomplished by a simple .cmd script with start /w, no "Task on demand" needed.

here's something more which i've never looked into. it seems promising? under New Triggers, Begin the task: On an Event, Custom, New Event Filter, By source, Event sources - there's a whole panel of choices there.
Like I wrote in the first post: There is no trigger that fits if the application does not create an event. Currently I see nothing that could create such an event no workaround.
One program that comes close might be febooti automation workshow, using the "file access" trigger as example. But I want to stay within Windows if possible.
